12pm-2pm - Swap

2pm-4pm -  Macrame Workshop

We are crazy excited to be partnering with the Kansas City House Plant Swap group for this amazing event! If you love plants you will definitely not want to miss this! We will be doing a Plant Swap event followed by a macrame plant hanger workshop. In the workshop, you will learn 4 basic macrame knots and a variety of ways to use them. You will complete one full plant hanger and leave with the knowledge to create more in a wide variety of styles. The workshop is $30 and comes with everything you need to create your plant hanger plus take-home instructions. For an additional $6, you will receive a glass bowl vase and a live succulent! Munchies and drinks will be provided so you can keep up your crafty strength!

This is the Kansas City House Plant Swap group's second event and will be structured slightly different from their first one.

The schedule for the event is as follows:
12-12:30 Arrive, set up, mingle - NO SWAPPING AT THIS TIME

12:30-1:15 Pre-Arranged Swaps and Plant for Plant Swaps ONLY. No gifting plants at this time.

1:15-1:45 Open Swap - Gift/Give away plants that you don’t want a swap for.
1:45-2:00 Clean up and head over for the Macrame Workshop(if you are participating)

2:00-4:00 Macrame Workshop starts at 2pm and you can leave when you are finished. You do not need to stay for the whole workshop. This will be limited to 25 guests and you can sign up before the event at the Create-It web store.

Don’t feel obligated to attend both portions of the event, you are welcome to attend one or the other, or both!

We ask that everyone be respectful with the schedule and your trading/taking/gifting. Please take a moment to read the guidelines below:

Bring healthy, pest free plants and cuttings to swap/gift
Plants should be in containers that you are willing to part with
Please label your plants with the scientific name and common name as well as some brief information about it(full sun, indirect light, humidity needed, easy to care for, high maintenance, etc.)
If you have fresh cuttings and/or bare root cuttings, please provide brief information on how to care for them and ready them for soil.
Plastic cups for plants and wet paper towels and ziplocks for cuttings. Notes written directly on them or with a post it note will suffice.
Bring pots/macrame holders to swap, gift or sell(for a MINIMAL cost of $5 or less)
This is NOT an event where you should come and expect to make money. We are here to have fun, educate others and gain some new plants, however we do understand the cost that comes along potting plants.

If you make your own organic pesticides, feel free to swap, gift or sell(same disclaimer as above)

You should leave with no more plants than you came with - Again, we are working on the honor system and are confident that we can all be respectful.
If you are new to the plant world and have nothing to share, please leave with one plant. Just explain to others that you are new to the adventure!

Whether you have been a plant enthusiast for years or are just getting started, we hope that you will come out and join us!
